Your account, email and data

Signing in, two-factor, which emails you can switch off, and getting your data back.

Signing in

You sign in with your email address and a password. There is also a magic-link option, which the sign-in page offers only while email is switched on — it is not today, so the password is the way in. Two-factor authentication — a six-digit code from an authenticator app — is built as far as the screens and no further: it cannot be switched on yet, and the security page says so rather than leaving you to find out. Until it can, a long password used nowhere else is the whole of your protection.

Email

Email is not switched on yet, so nothing on this list reaches you today — your order pages carry everything about a sale as it happens, and they are the place to look. When it is on, five kinds can be switched off in your notification settings: wishlist alerts, the weekly digest, activity on your lots, sell-signal summaries and product announcements, the last three of which have nothing sending them yet and say so on the page. Anything carrying money, a deadline or a decision will never be a preference, because an order that goes quiet because of a box unticked months earlier becomes a problem for both sides.

Your data

  • Export everything you have added — holdings, notes, purchases, provenance — as JSON, CSV or a spreadsheet.
  • Control what you contribute to community figures separately from what appears on your public profile.
  • Deactivate the account to hide it for thirty days, reversibly, or schedule deletion of your personal data.

Deletion removes personal data. Anonymised marketplace records — that a lot sold, and for how much — remain, because they are part of someone else's purchase history too.
