The bottle
What the seller has recorded about this particular lot, and what nobody has.
Condition
0 of 4 parts assessed by the seller
Fill level not assessed
Nobody has recorded this bottle's fill level. The diagram shows no reading. This is not a statement that the fill is good — other auction houses treat a blank fill as base of neck or higher, and Encave does not. Ask the seller before bidding.
In the seller's words
The seller has not described this lot in their own words.
Where a part says “not assessed”, nobody has recorded it. Other auction houses treat a blank as the best grade — one states in its own glossary that an unindicated fill level means base of neck or higher. Encave does not. Ask the seller before bidding.

What it has been worth
Encave's own record for this wine, and the wider market around it.

Private seller
The seller has declared that they are not selling in the course of a business.
- This is the seller's own statement about themself. Encave does not verify it.
- The Consumer Rights Act 2015 duties on traders do not apply to a sale between two private individuals, and neither do the unfair trading rules on misleading actions and omissions.
- A private seller is still not free to misdescribe a lot. Goods sold by description must correspond with that description under the Sale of Goods Act 1979 (s.13), which binds private sellers; the satisfactory quality and fitness duties in s.14 do not, because they apply only where goods are sold in the course of a business.
- A false statement of fact that induced the purchase may also be actionable as a misrepresentation.
This sets out which rules apply to a sale, not how a dispute would be decided. It is not legal advice.
