Measured from the base of the cork with the bottle upright, on a sloped-neck bottle, rounded to the nearest half centimetre. The trade records a distance for this shape because the profile has no shoulder landmark to name.
Fill level cannot tell you how the bottle was stored. One hot shipment can cost more fill than thirty years of cellaring.
